Demostrating the MIDI Fighter 3D with Korn, Skrillex and Liszt

A couple of weeks after DJTT made the announcement that I’m one of the winners of the MIDI Fighter 3D, FedEx was at my door with a cardboard box. After getting over my initial surprise, I got to testing the MIDI Figher 3D and loving it. Although I’m sure this is old news to lots of people, I’ll just say that playing samples on arcade buttons is absolutely awesome. Throw in the 3D functionality and this controller is now part of my permanent setup.

I mapped the forward tilt on the MF3D to filter resonance and frequency on the synth bass, and the right tilt to sample offset on some vocal and synth bass snippets (giving the thing a really granular sound, I love that). I use one of the shift buttons on the left of the controller to record a loop of the synth at the very beginning of the video, and another shift button on the right to trigger a part of Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody”.
